The Full Burn

The stars may get the big contracts and magazine covers, but on a movie set it’s the stuntmen and stuntwomen who’ve got all the real-life sex appeal. It’s impossible to look anywhere else as they crash and fly and tumble, on fire, ten stories through the air. And they’re just as outrageous (and sometimes more so) when the cameras stop rolling. The Full Burn is the first inside look at these brave souls on and off the set.

Would it surprise you to find out that their personal lives are every bit as pyrotechnic as what they do for a living? They ride expensive bikes and ruin fast cars (both tax-deductible activities for them) and they encourage their kids to do things you or I would never dare. They’re charismatic people. The divorce rate is high.

The Full Burn is now on sale online and in stores: once you read a few pages, you’ll never look at big summer movies the same way again. You can find out more about the book on Fresh Air, with Terry Gross, and in these reviews.
